Ellen was born and raised in America's northeast.  After attending Simmon's College in Boston, and being a part of the dance scene in New York and Boston, she settled into the serious business of raising a family.  It was during this period that Ellen worked at Transition House, a refuge for battered women, as a caseworker and hotline manager.

In 1983 Ellen immigrated to Israel with her growing family.  Eight children later, she recreated herself many times.  She was the founder and director of a private pre-school hailed for its uniqueness and creativity.  Ellen was the founder and owner of THE BREAD BASKET, a wholegrain bakery renowned for its sourdough baked goods, whole foods take-out, and whole foods cooking school.  Always in demand as a lactation consultant, nutritional advisor, and eating disorders consultant, -her listening ear skills were continually being honed by her studies in Narrative Therapy.  Her food workshops for all ages, where Ellen's passion for improving people's relationship with food took stage, were popular on the Jerusalem scene.

Ellen's work is always creative, gentle, and collaborative with an emphasis on helping the client discover new and satisfying narratives for themselves.

She resides in Jerusalem, Israel with her husband Yosef.  Their 16 children are scattered all across the globe.
